Plan Your Bathroom Design Ideas For New House

The bathroom is one room in the house that you’ll use many times each and every day so getting the design right in your new home is essential for long term enjoyment of the space. It can be tempting to go for the cheapest options and generic solutions but avoid this if you can to ensure you don’t end up feeling disappointed with the design.

Consider how long you’ve waited for your new home and how waiting a little longer and not cutting corners will bring you the best return on your new investment. Here are some key things to consider when thinking about the bathroom for your new home.

Connect the bathroom with the main bedroom:

You will feel more comfortable if you can go straight to the bathroom from the bedroom and the other way around. You can always include in your design a smaller bathroom for your guests. Also pay attention to the closets: if you can’t add a bathroom closet, then you need storage space nearby.

Add a window to your bathroom:

Sometimes bathrooms are dark, cold places. Of course you can provide yours with elegant spotlights and create all kinds of light effects, but don’t discard the idea of adding a window to your design. Windows provide beautiful natural light during the day, and privacy should not be a concern if you get a stunning curtain, blind or even frosted glass. Make sure you invest in curtains or blinds that resist humidity if you go down that path.

Wooden floors go great in the bathroom:

Forget about stepping out of the shower and freezing your feet when touching the cold, traditional tile floor. Wooden floors are definitely here to stay, just be sure you choose a lacquered wooden floor to keep moisture at bay. Spills and splashes must be wiped up immediately. Wooden floors provide the bathroom with a cozy, spa-like environment that will make you want to stay in there for hours.

Choose an original palette:

Although there is nothing wrong with the typical white walls and blue tiles, contemporary bathrooms are not constrained to those colors. Why not decorate your bathroom in vibrant shades? You can choose from a wide range of tones to apply on walls and bathroom furniture, and later combine them with plenty of accessories such as candles, towels or the shower curtain.

Add bathroom furniture:

If your bathroom has enough space, adding a decorative chair can be a great idea. You should also consider extra hanging space for towels and clothes. In any case, even the smallest bathroom can be fitted with hooks on its walls.

With these tips in mind spend time browsing display homes, bathroom supplies stores and even reading blogs and magazines for inspiration and ideas on how to design your ideal bathroom. If you’re patient and give plenty of thought to your new bathroom you will be excited about your new space and are sure to enjoy it for many years to come. And that’s what will make all the time and effort you put in now worth it.
